Home Based Healthcare Services

Question: Discuss about the Home Based Healthcare Services. Answer: Abstract Because of the improving living standards globally, now people tend to live longer than ever before. This is because economies are growing and respective governments can afford a decent life for their citizens. This is a great business opportunity because of the increasing number of an aging population. In Australia, in 2006, the population that was aged 80 years and above was approximately 700,000. In 2011, the people of the same age group had increased to roughly one million (Australia Community Profile, 2017). It is expected that from 2016 census, the population of this group will be about 1.5 million. Of importance, is not the population of this age group, but rather the support and care it needs. This is the basis of coming up with the business idea of providing home-based health care services. Overview of the Business Idea There are many different ways elderly people in the community can be supported while growing a successful business. Home-based health care services can be divided into two main categories, namely: support services and care plus (Conforti et al. 2004). Support services are aimed at helping senior people in the community to lead an independent life, take part in community issues and continue to live safely in their homes. On the other hand, care plus is when extra care is provided to someone with health problems (Antorini and Muiz, 2013). This is to ensure that the overall cost of providing healthcare services is minimized. So the focus of the business is to identify these individuals in the community and come up with a plan on how to provide home-based and customized healthcare services while growing the business (Cordato et al. 2005). Business Model Components In order to ensure that this business idea is successful, the following are the areas that business owner will pay more attention to: Sales and marketing Finances Business team Technology Social media Sales and Marketing Since resources available are never adequate, it is important to point out that the business will use business website, social media, corporate events and videos as sales and marketing tools. These tools are economical and do not require much technical know-how to apply them (Jordi, 2014). The website will contain the business logo, marketing materials, magazines, newspapers and other displays that will play a significant role in branding the business. Social media tools such as Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, and Instagram will also be the top priority in fueling the growth of the business because many people have access to them. Corporate events and videos will purposely be used to demonstrate what the business does to the community. Finances The business recognizes funds as a treasured resource and a key pillar of successful growth. Because of this reason, therefore, the business will strive to work within the limited budget line and at the same time only finance those activities that can help generate more revenue (Business News Daily, 2017). For any business to succeed, it must have a good system of managing its financial resources. One way to do that is to ensure all debts are collected and paid on time. This is depended on how the invoicing is being done. The invoicing process can be a serious challenge if there is no clear approach to managing it (Chandra, et al. 2004). To ensure the process does not fail, the invoicing apps will be used. They will aid in raising, sending and tracking all the invoices. The apps will also be fitted into the mobile phones to ensure real-time responses. The Business Team Hiring can be a plus or minus to the business depending on how you hire and who you are hiring. If a company hires the wrong team, then the business will lose. This is because is because the objectives of the firm will not be achieved (Business News Daily, 2017). Considering hiring fresh graduates could be a brilliant idea because it will be easier to learn and grow the idea together. At this point, one can easily get good talent and focused mind. To ensure that the business grows to achieve its long-term goals and objectives, making clear the work of the organization is important. This will help attract competitively and highly skill employees. In many occasions, qualified and professional employees do not apply for positions that do not have enough information about (Mann, 2008). Many of the job seekers today, have access to a lot of information about the job market and therefore make informed decisions. Noting this, it is, therefore, important to point out the business will do ext ensive market research to determine the best compensation and the nature of employment contracts that apply to the business. Disclosing such information to the job seekers will help increase efficiency in recruitment since those who do fit will disqualify themselves for the most competitive ones. Some other relevant information that will be shared with job seekers includes the business vision and mission, business brand, culture, values and role in corporate social responsibility. Technology The business landscape is changing the world over because of technology. A well designed, speedy and customer supportive website will be essential. This is not only important in engaging with the customers but also in reaching a wider market through online marketing (Jordi, 2014). For any business, it remains important to consider using the most suitable communication tools (Turban, et al. 2002). The slack and the Skype tools could be among them. These are communication tools that can be included the in the website too to enhance both audio and video communications. However, because of the costs associated with managing and running the tools, anyone of them still can provide excellent communication services. However, the factors that will be used to determine which communication tool to use to incorporate into the website is the flexibility of communication and the level of comprehensiveness in making both audio and video calls. Social Media A part of Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp and Instagram, the business will consider using a snap chat. This is a social media that enables the users to send seconds-long images to the other users. The images sent are always temporal. This application is the latest in mobile social media and has one main advantage that it is not so much prone to traffic (Business News Daily, 2017). Because of the increasing number of people who use this application, it could be a very important platform for sharing important information with the target customer audience. Further, to improve on communication the snap ads of 10 seconds, with full screen and vertical videos, also will provide a great opportunity for interaction (Ansari et al. 2008). This tool calls for a specific action whereby the potential customers are requested to visit a given link for detailed information. About two-thirds of the ads will be audio which automatically with sound. In addition to this, sponsored lenses which make use of g eofilters will also be used for interaction. In this case, a video or a photo is sent to a friend or a snap story. All these platforms will help ensure high interaction with the customers. Conclusion This discussion has covered the concept of home-based healthcare services as a business idea for growth. This business idea is current because of the increasing number of senior people in the community who need healthcare services in their homes. Further, different ways of growing this business idea have also been discussed, and they include Sales and marketing, finances, business team, technology and social media. If well promoted and executed, the business idea has a potential for growth because of the increasing customer audience.
